I am a licensed mental health provider (LMSW), a yoga teacher and trainer, and mindful communication educator and trainer. For about 20 years, I have been focusing on ways to help myself and others heal, learn and grow. I have found that implementing practices founded on curiosity, empathy and compassion provide a strong foundation. I have studied wellness from many perspectives and tend to draw on all of these in my own life and when supporting others.
In our sessions, I provide a caring, safe presence so that you can build a deeper awareness of yourself, and an honest, loving connection with yourself. I aim to support your understanding of the mixed emotions, beliefs and habits that are causing pain. We will build on your innate strength, insight and beauty to support increased self-acceptance and love to allow for positive transformations in your inner world and in your relationships. In sessions, we’ll utilize approaches and tools that feel best to you, and often include a mix of thinking-based practices, more emotion-focused and body-based practices.
I have experience working with individuals across the life-span, and from many walks of life. I draw on mindfulness, compassion-based approaches that are trauma-informed including ACT, CBT and IFS. I also provide therapy to couples and families utilizing these frameworks, as well as my training in Non-Violent Communication (NVC).
