Mackenzie Speir Carter, LMSW

Therapist

I'm MacKenzie Speir, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a passion for unraveling the complexities of human thought and emotion to foster clarity and healing. I hope to create transformative therapeutic experiences that empower women and young people on their journey toward emotional wellbeing and personal growth.

My practice specializes in supporting young professional women and college students as they navigate the unique challenges of academic life, career development, and personal transformation. I also have extensive experience working with children, bringing warmth and understanding to help young minds process their emotions and experiences.

Therapy, to me, is not about offering advice for your struggles. Instead, it's about creating a space where your story can be heard and understood. My hope is to help you learn new tools and sharpen existing ones, aiding you in navigating life's challenges with confidence. I take particular joy in helping women build emotional resilience, enhance self-esteem, and develop strategies for managing anxiety and depression.

I have always been fascinated by the intricacies of human thoughts and emotions. My approach to therapy involves unraveling the yarn ball of your inner world to make sense of your experiences and emotions. Together, we will explore your journey towards healing and personal growth in a space that celebrates feminine strength and understanding.

My areas of focus include:
Supporting young professional women in career transitions and work-life balance
Guiding female college students through academic stress and personal development
Building emotional intelligence and self-awareness in children
Helping women navigate relationships and self-discovery
Supporting recovery from anxiety, depression, and substance use challenges

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Louisiana Tech University, and a Master's degree in Social Work from Louisiana College. I am licensed as a social worker in Maryland and Louisiana, combining academic knowledge with practical experience to support my clients effectively.

Above all else, I am committed to forming meaningful connections with my clients and empowering them to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Therapy with me is a collaborative journey towards greater understanding and resilience. I want to provide a space to listen to you, because therapy is about you.
