I believe therapy is about creating a safe and supportive space to process vulnerable and authentic emotions. It is an honor to witness human growth and resilience unfold in front of me. I value building meaningful relationships and view therapy as a collaborative journey, where each conversation serves as a stepping stone toward healing and self-discovery. Through open and genuine dialogue, we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in ways that foster connection, understanding, and personal growth. Conversations hold the transformative power to help us navigate challenges, uncover insights, and cultivate deeper relationships—with others and, most importantly, with yourself.
I have experience providing clinical services in various settings to clients from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. These experiences have helped me develop self-reflection and a critical understanding of the role culture and diversity play in the therapeutic environment. Growing up in Asia and moving to the United States at a young age has given me insight into how cultural and familial experiences shape us and influence our mental health. I am passionate about exploring these complexities in a therapeutic setting.
I also enjoy working with children and adolescents. I have worked with this population in both group and individual therapy settings, including hospitals and outpatient clinics. I have facilitated therapeutic activities that help young clients build emotional resilience, improve communication skills, and develop effective coping mechanisms.
Before pursuing a career in social work, I earned my undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts from St. John's College in Annapolis, MD, where I focused on Philosophy. Later, I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I work with clients of all ages, providing psychotherapy services using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed approaches. I also incorporate elements of Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Art Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into my practice.
When I am not in the therapy office, I enjoy taking long walks in parks, listening to podcasts while cooking, watching stand-up comedy and movies, and exploring live music venues in the DMV area. I believe that self-care and nurturing happen through these small yet meaningful moments in life.
