Welcome! I am honored to have you visit my bio page because it means you are curious about investing in your healing. My therapeutic framework is focused on person-centered and trauma- informed care. What does that mean? I believe that true healing occurs when a client is seen as a whole person and when therapy offers a sense of safety, empowerment, collaboration, trust, and choice. Because we are unique individuals, I also place great importance in identifying cultural, historical, societal, and gender-related issues that can be closely related to trauma.
I have received advanced trauma training from the Ferentz Institute and have worked with survivors of different trauma backgrounds. I also have experience in working with survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual abuse. Therapeutic modalities I often use are CBT, DBT, expressive arts, and IFS. I also gravitate towards attachment theory, mind-body connection, and throw in a splash of humor!
I am bicultural and identify as a woman of color. I hold a M.A degree in clinical mental health counseling from Marymount University and provide therapy in Spanish as well. I look forward to hearing from you!
Bienvenidos/Bienvenides!
